nokia n810 wimax editionThis is an all new internet tablet from Nokia – The Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition. Nokia has certainly entered another market as a late entrant with this new internet tablet. The Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition connects to the internet using WiMAX – you don’t need to look for hotspots anymore. It comes with a high-resolution 4.13” WVGA touch screen display (800 x 480 pixels) with up to 65,536 colors.

Here are some of the features listed on Nokia’s website.

* DDR RAM 128MB
* Flash 256MB

* 2GB internal memory
* Support for compatible miniSD and microSD memory cards (with extender). Supports cards up to 8GB. (SD cards over 2GB must be SDHC compatible.)

* Battery: Nokia Battery BP-4L
* Music playback: up to 10 hours
* Standby time off-line: up to 14 days

WiMAX operation times*

* Standby. always online: up to 2 days
* Internet browsing time: up to 3 hours

Wi-Fi operation times*

* Internet browsing time: up to 4 hours

The interesting part is that this Nokia N810 WiMAX edition runs on an all new operating system – OS2008 which is basically a Linux based OS. This is definitely a chance for application developers to develop third party software for the device. Currently the Nokia N810 WiMAX edition is only available in the US.
