All new PSP to have multi touch screen and 3G?
Looks like the product planners at Sony are still trying to figure out why their PSP has not found as much success as the Nintendo DS. So they’re now sending out surveys to their potential customers with a bunch of questions which go like “Would you buy a PSP if it had…”. Interesting.
Here are some of the features that have popped up from the questionnaire:
- GPS
- A comic/book-downloading service
- Dual analog sticks
- Bluetooth
- A full keyboard
- A hard drive
- The ability to access the internet from any location
The ability to access the internet could most likely be the addition of a 3G modem to the unit. Sony has done surveys before and it certainly looks like they have not been able to capture some of the important details that the customer wanted. Sometimes it is not just taking the results of a questionnaire and making it into a product – it is all about improvising… That’s what Apple did!

This is a great concept, however they are very overpriced. I think I will wait till the price of the unit and the accessories come way down before I purchase one.

Well, its really a great idea. But still PSP’s are designed for portable playing. If you’ll add all of the above we’ll it will be pricy enough for the consumers to buy.

[...] If Apple is serious about this, it could pose a big threat to the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP too. It is to be notes that Sony themselves have started thinking of incorporating some of the iPhone’s features on the next gen PSP. [...]
