Which laptop display is the best of all?

Submitted by newgadgetsguru on January 29, 2009 – 7:04 am4 Comments

laptop-with-best-display“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s display is the best of all?”. Wouldn’t we all like to know? According to veteran photographer Rob Galbraith, the Dell Mini 9 has a better display than even the much hyped 15″ Macbook Pro in terms of color accuracy, although on viewing angle it slips back down the league table. Apparently he doesn’t fancy the glossy screens that Apple has recently introduced on its laptops.

That’s not all. The test also included some laptops from Lenovo – Thinkpad T60 and Thinkpad W700. Apparently these two laptops manage to capture first and second places between them on color accuracy and angle of view. The giant desktop replacement got the color so spot-on because of the optional $70 built in color calibrator, which – at the touch of a button and close of a lid – will set the colors right in just three minutes. Being an avid Mac/Apple fan it is hard for me to believe why Apple scored so badly in this test especially since Apple laptops and desktops are definitely the machines of choice for graphic designers. If you want to know more read the entire review by Rob Galbraith.
