Twitlet keeps your twittering simple and effective

Submitted by newgadgetsguru on February 12, 2009 – 4:51 pm2 Comments

twitletIf you are one of the many people out there who keep running the twitter homepage or a desktop client while at work this might be the right solution for you – Twitlet. As the name implies it is a stripped down version of twitter itself and is very “light” on your browser. All it does is place a tiny bookmarklet on your browser window which you can click from time to time to send updates on twitter.

As with other twitter services, setting up twitlet is a breeze as well. All you need is your account info aka username and password and voila you are setup on twitlet. Once you have dragged and placed the bookmarklet on top of your browser, all you need to do it to click it and a window will pop up like the one shown in the figure. You are able to use the special #link or #this keywords to add URL links to the current webpage which you might have opened. The only drawback with twitlet is it is not recommended on a shared PC (like a shared desktop at work) as it might mean that your co-worker could get access to your twitter account. Who knows what might happen after that!
