riiflex-dumbbellsYou’ve used the Wii to practice bowling, shooting pool, hitting a homerun and even doing that moonwalk! But now you can take it one step even further by working out using your Wii. Now there’s no excuse for not lifting those dumbbells anymore.

Enter Riiflex – the dumbbell weight accessory for the Nintendo Wii and Wii fit. Initially perceived as just a CAD mock up, it has now graduated to some sort of a plastic sleeve prototype. The dumbbell set is now actually available in meatspace in pixel-green or baby raster-blue. The set will come in at either 2lbs or 4lbs (0.9 Kg or 1.81 Kg) and will cost $35 and $40 for pairs (one slides onto the Wiimote and the other onto the nunchuk).

Here’s an excerpt from the product website:

Riiflex™ weights combine the durability you would expect from quality fitness gear, and innovative design you’ll appreciate each time you use these in your Wii™, and Wii Fit™ exercise routines. The ergonomic grip provides secure control throughout a broad range of motions.

A nice addition to your gaming accessory! The Riiflex will be available for shipping during summer 2009.
