A faceless watch which still can tell time!

I love watches – especially those bracelet watches with sophisticated chronographs. But recently I came across a faceless watch which looks like just a metal bracelet. There are no dials or digital screens on this watch but apparently it still tells time.

Basically there are LEDs embedded in the bracelet. Press a button and the LEDs light up to show the time. Looking at the picture it doesn’t look like its that easy to read the time as the LED color isn’t contrasting against the metallic bracelet. It certainly looks like an interesting concept for those who don’t like to wear watches but still into jewelery. The product page of this watch doesn’t have any information on the price and shipment date and is still labeled as “coming soon”!

Truth or Dare? You’re better off with dare!

How would you like to play a game of truth of dare and make sure that your friend is really telling the truth? Well having a few beers before the game is one option, but for those who don’t drink you can use the truth wristband. Apparently, this $45 wearable device is supposed to be able to dynamically “reflect your psycho-emotional response to the world, promoting internal states to be externalized and made into interactive forms of expression.

This is how it works:

“Measuring the galvanic skin response (a marker of emotional arousal commonly used in lie detector tests), this device lights turn from blue to red as the wearer becomes aroused. Ask the wearer an evocative question and reveal his or her inner Truth.”

Does it work? Not sure! But if you see it on CSI, then it probably will work after all!

You’ll literally pay to go to work late with this alarm clock

Are you a morning person? Or are you like the rest of us human beings? If you belong to the latter, you’re going to love (or really hate) this alarm clock. This innovative alarm clock will ensure that you will either have to wake up on time or go broke before the end of the month. Just make sure your mom doesn’t read this!

Called the Banclock, it is pretty much like any alarm clock for someone unassuming. That’s until the alarm goes off in the morning – you can’t shut it off until you drop a coin in it. So you’ll have to think twice about setting another alarm for ten minutes later. Powered by three AA batteries, the Banclock is available in four colors, and its box shape is both sophisticated and kind of fun.

A nice gadget for bosses to get for their employees. At $53.03, it might be a worthwhile investment for your company after all.

Samsung ebook reader is the latest addition in the market

It seems like quite a few manufacturers have taken a cue from Amazon Kindle’s success and come up with their own versions on ebook readers. Samsung seems to be the latest company to jump in this bandwagon. Samsung has announced that it plans to release an ebook reader called Papyrus – it is the seventh company to do so!

Apparently the Papyrus will only cost $300 and comes with touchscreen capability and an e-ink screen. This means that Samsung’s Papyrus will cost lesser than the Amazon Kindle and Sony’s ebook reader. Papyrus, when it becomes available, will join an increasingly crowded field that includes the Kindle, Sony Reader, Fujitsu FLEPia, Hanlin eReader, Foxit eSlick Reader, and the yet-to-be-released Plastic Logic reader. Will it survive in this crowded market?

A lot was reported about the LG watch phone that was recently launched at CES earlier this year. In fact there was even a lot of interest shown in it. One particular company Neutrano has obviously paid a lot of attention to this and developed their own similar watch recently.

This retro styled watch is able to make phone calls, take pictures or even videos. You could turn yourself into a secret agent wearing one of these. The Neutrano Nutec WristFone is not tied to any Telco and will work on any GSM network. Simply slide your SIM at the back of the watch and you are ready to go!

But not just this, there are quite a few cool features that are available on this watch phone. Some of them are:

- 2 Mega Pixel Camera on top of the watch’s face
- Supports bluetooth accessories
- FM radio
- Play music files
- Audio recording

Only problem is that the watch is to be operated with a stylus. This will definitely be an issue keeping in mind the small size of the watch’s face which will display the phone menu when not in watch mode. The watch phone can last 3-4 hours of talk time and a standby time of 3 days. This watch phone is currently retailing for $400. Will you buy one?

Diamond encrusted iPhone spotted on eBay

What else will they do to the iPhone? A diamond encrusted iPhone has been spotted on eBay and is currently selling for $10,000. According to the seller, there “are 420 diamonds with a total carat weight ranging from 5.65 to 6.34.” So is the iPhone going to be a fashion accessory as well? What will they do with it – wear it on a chain? Incredibly ridiculous if you ask me!

Brother Industry’s E-paper – Japan’s answer to the Amazon Kindle?

Brother industry had recently launched a 9.7-inch E-paper document viewer with 1200×825 pixel resolution display and viewing area much larger than the size of Amazon’s Kindle 2. This device is certainly not targeted at the casual consumer but rather for business users. The SV-100B E-paper could be very useful to business users as it has a larger screen which is able to display A5 size documents.

The SV-100B E-paper measures at 15.5mm in thickness and reads electronic documents via a proprietary application that converts data from PC to a “printed” document format that’s compatible with the device. These documents can then be stored with a 128-bit AES encryption and password protected locking security feature. With a storage capacity of 10,000 sheets of A4 size documents and a battery life up to 83 hours this could certainly be a very handy device for traveling professionals who do not want to carry bulky documents.

Apparently this device will retail in Japan for ¥139,800 (~ US$1,423) from June 1st.

A waterproof LCD screen for the adventurous

How rugged do you want your gadgets to be? We’ve heard of waterproof watches and even cameras but how about a waterproof LCD screen? Stealth Computer has just recently announced a waterproof LCD screen for those adventurous outdoor types. This probably could be a screen that can be used for applications which would require it to be left in harsh conditions for extended periods of time.

The little screen measures 8.4-inches and is water resistant meeting IP68/NEMA 6P specifications for water tightness. The rugged display is mounted inside an aluminum housing that provides strength and protection and supports IR touchscreen functionality. The LCD is LED backlit and has 60-degree horizontal and 55-degree vertical viewing angles. Brightness for the display is 1000 CD/M2 making it sunlight readable and the native resolution is 800 x 600. The power, USB and VGA ports are water resistant as well. The little screen carries a big price of $2,295 and is available now.

A bra that sings – how sexy is that?

Yesterday we saw a music player which talks, today we’re looking at a bra which also plays music! Whether they are going to be of any use is a different question, but for now they’re certainly making the news!

Each breast gets eight different sounds, triggered by custom-made fabric buttons constructed from layers of conductive material separated by strips of foam. These are sewn and ironed (using double-sided interfacing, which glues on when heat is applied) into the bra, before a final layer of plain material is fixed onto the inside to prevent any unpleasant breast-wire interfacings.

The speaker goes up front, and a battery holder in-between the shoulder-blades. So you tell us – How sexy is that?

What do you think is a decent size for a dishwasher? Whatever you might have in mind, we’re sure you will think that this dishwasher is really one of the tiny ones. Perhaps this is one for those couples who are yet to start a family with not too many dishes lying around. It certainly has one impressive design!

In its pre-wash cycle the dishwasher steams up the dishes and recycles the cooled down residual H2O for the later-on cycles. That’s a neat way of conserving water for a pint-sized washer! The body of the Gota is crafted from ABS polycarbonate and the internal tank stores sufficient enough water for a round of cleaning.
