How about a cool mouse that can make your life easier? The mouse comes with a software that allows professional video editors to program mouse movements to specific video functions. Power users will appreciate being able to program any keystroke, combination keystroke or series of keystrokes (macros) to any of the buttons, scroll wheel or mouse movement.

The switch between normal operation and HD operation is pretty easy by a click on the scroll wheel. This mouse also comes with presets for popular Mac and Windows applications. No software is required for standard operation while the software for HD operation is free and can be downloaded from Bella.

The My Book Essential line up of external hard drives offer up to 1TB of data storage capability. Now Western Digital has expanded their line up to include a new 2TB model as well.

2TB storage is currently the largest available storage in a single drive storage device. These new models are compatible both with the Mac and Windows machines. There are four models available: My Book Studio Edition, My Book Mac Edition, My Book Home Edition, and My Book Essential Edition.

All these models share the same 2TB capacity and the USB 2.0 connection available in the My Book Essential edition. However, the other models also offer FireWire 400, FireWire 800, and eSATA interfaces for faster data transfer rates. The My Book Home Edition is also equipped with continuous backup software for PC users who need an easy way to back up data.

Here are the highlights of the features available on the My Book:

- Small footprint to save space
- Capacity gauge to check available space at a glance
- Goes into standby after 10 minutes of inactivity
- SmartPower feature which turns off and turns on the device along with the PC.
- Safe Shutdown feature prevents the drive from being powered down until all the data has been written
- Kensington Security Slot that lets users secure the drive to their desk

The new My Book family is available now at retailers and cost between $329.99 and $379.99, depending on model and capacity. The Mac version is currently unavailable and is expected to be available sometime next month.
Dell has confirmed this news to the Austin American Statesman. It will be priced at $1,999. Currently not much details are available as Dell is keeping this launch as a top secret.

According to engadget:

As expected, the machine will be just the first in an entire line of high-end Adamo-branded machines, but we don’t know if Dell has anything else in store right away — hopefully we’ll find out more soon, as the 13-inch version is due out in 24 countries including the states on March 26th.

So we can expect 2 big announcements tomorrow – the Dell Adamo and iPhone firmware version 3.0.

Quite a bit has been written about Lenovo’s upcoming netbook (still in the concept stage currently) called the Pocket Yoga. It certainly reminds us of a certain Sony Vaio netbook that was released earlier this year. But if the photos here are indication, this netbook from Lenovo would definitely knock out any other competitor in terms of looks at least.

The company teased Monday with pictures of a new netbook called Pocket Yoga. The photos also show a netbook with a nice almost full-sized keyboard that supports a touchscreen for a stylus. It also has a form factor that allows it to be flipped into a small tablet PC.

Currently there is no information available on the specifications. If it is going to be a competitor to Sony’s netbook it should at least ship with a 1.33GHz processor and an 8 inch screen. So until further details are available have fun looking at the photos.

Apricorn has recently released some cool looking HDDs which are small enough to fit your pocket. It definitely seems that the trend is going towards smaller HDDs with larger capacities. The 1.8-inch external not only packs as much as 240GB of storage space but it’s small enough that you can slide it into your front pants pocket.

Not only is the device small but its equally light too – it just weighs 3.7 ounces. Furthermore it is shock mounted for those rough users. There is no need for an external power adapter and can be easily powered by your USB port or FireWire port. The thing that we like about this HDD is that there is an in built USB cable which can be wrapped around the HDD itself. It certainly looks like it was designed keeping portability in mind. The USB drives are priced at $149, $189 and $269 for the 80GB, 120GB and 240GB, respectively. The FireWire models go for $10 more than their USB counterparts. Now you can fit these HDDs in your pocket and keep your wallet intact too!
The 12.1 inch latitude XT2 tablet comes with multitouch capabilities as well. You can be sure that the good old keyboard and touchpad might just be a thing of the past very soon.

Dell has mentioned that the multitouch capabilities on the latitude XT2 will allow users to perform natural actions such as pinch or tap for scrolling, panning, rotating and zooming. In addition the new Intel Core 2 Duo model gets up to 11 hours 28 minutes of battery life with a six cell battery and offers a daylight viewable display. The tablet also sports a full size keyboard, touchpad, point-stick and a battery free pen. This definitely looks like a cool gadget to have, but the price is on the high side!

Obviously not content with just providing the Atom processor for the latest notebooks, Intel has also decided to release their own OS for netbooks – Moblin. Moblin is a Linux based OS optimized to run on netbooks powered by the Atom processor. Currently the alpha version of Moblin has been released and is confirmed to work with popular netbooks such as the Dell Mini 9, Acer Aspire One and the Eee PC 901.

The OS seems to be stable for now but the UI looks very plain. It would certainly help to beef up the UI to a more richer user experience. It is quite possible that once Moblin is fully ready it would be based on Clutter which Intel owns. This should definitely help to improve the UI.

If you would like to try it out, you could download Moblin here.

“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s display is the best of all?”. Wouldn’t we all like to know? According to veteran photographer Rob Galbraith, the Dell Mini 9 has a better display than even the much hyped 15″ Macbook Pro in terms of color accuracy, although on viewing angle it slips back down the league table. Apparently he doesn’t fancy the glossy screens that Apple has recently introduced on its laptops.

That’s not all. The test also included some laptops from Lenovo – Thinkpad T60 and Thinkpad W700. Apparently these two laptops manage to capture first and second places between them on color accuracy and angle of view. The giant desktop replacement got the color so spot-on because of the optional $70 built in color calibrator, which – at the touch of a button and close of a lid – will set the colors right in just three minutes. Being an avid Mac/Apple fan it is hard for me to believe why Apple scored so badly in this test especially since Apple laptops and desktops are definitely the machines of choice for graphic designers. If you want to know more read the entire review by Rob Galbraith.
Now lets not get our hopes up – yes it still needs power when its operating. But this PC promises not to consume any power when in standby mode. In comparison, a lot of other PCs while in standby mode still consume about 5 watts of power when connected to the main power. How wasteful is that?

The ESPRIMO Green PC s have been designed to overcome this energy wasting problem. It consumes no power and is still operable. Fujitsu Siemens will be launching this green PC sometime by the middle of the year. Fujitsu also plans to showcase its lineup of environmentally friendly PCs during the CeBIT show during March. Well we’ve seen environmentally friendly phones, but this is definitely something new for PCs. Would you buy one?
